First edition of EQinsight published

EQinsight is the newsletter of EQ International. It contains a collection of research, opinion, ideas and information related to execution, plus snippets about EQ’s people, products and progress.

The feature article of the first edition titled Fund capacity limited by fund objectives discusses how having knowledge of your fund capacity is crucial for funds management planning and very useful when marketing for additional funds. Understanding the key restrictive factors enables sensible decisions to be made to increase capacity of funds, both individually and collectively.

The EQ opinion titled A fixed participation rate misses target examines a common current practice that attempts to limit market impact by setting a fixed participation rate across all trades. We argue that a more advanced approach is appropriate given current third-generation impact models and suggest that fixing days volatility is a more consistent approach.
